Workplace Wellbeing Workshops

Trauma-informed, nervous system led training for workplaces

Stress, burnout, menopause, neurodiversity, grief and loss, pregnancy and baby loss, domestic abuse, and whether people feel safe enough to speak up. These things are already present in every workplace. The question is whether they're being noticed and supported, or quietly showing up in sickness absence, staff turnover and disengagement.

Traditional wellbeing training often asks people to “be more resilient" or "manage their stress better". My workshops take a different approach. Each one helps your team understand what's happening in the body and the nervous system, so managers and colleagues can recognise when someone is struggling and respond in a way that genuinely helps.

What's Included

The Workshop (60 minutes)

An engaging, interactive session for your whole team, delivered in person or online.

Participants leave with a shared language for wellbeing, safety and capacity that they can use in every conversation at work.

The Manager Response Guide

A practical desk reference for line managers, supervisors and team leaders. It bridges the gap between what they learn in the workshop and what they do in their next one-to-one, with clear guidance on what helps, what to avoid and what to say.

The Policy and Implementation Framework

A ready-to-use framework for HR and people leaders. It doesn't replace your existing policies. It strengthens them, and it's written in plain HR language so it can be added to your current documents with minimal rework.

The Traffic Lights of Tolerance™

Every workshop is built around one simple framework that helps people understand three nervous system states:

🟢 Green: safe and connected. Calm, focused and able to think clearly. This is where performance, creativity and wellbeing become possible.

🟡 Yellow: fight or flight. Anxious, irritable, overworking, on edge. The body is preparing for threat, even when the "threat" is a deadline or a difficult meeting.

🔴 Red: shutdown. Brain fog, withdrawal and exhaustion despite effort. From the outside, this often looks like disengagement.

These aren't personality traits or attitude problems. They're the body's responses to its environment. Once your team can see them, they can't unsee them.

Workshop Topics

  • Neurodiversity in the Workplace

Moving beyond labels and diagnoses to understand how neurodivergent employees experience the workplace. Covers masking and its hidden cost, and the small environmental changes that make a big difference to capacity and performance.

  • Menopause in the Workplace

Why brain fog and emotional reactivity during perimenopause and menopause are physiology, not personality. Includes practical support and the conversations that help retain experienced, valued staff.

  • Pregnancy and Baby Loss at Work

An often unspoken experience that can't be left at the door. Explores why grief is physical as well as emotional, why returning to work doesn't mean someone is okay, and how to support colleagues with compassion.

  • Stress and Burnout Prevention

Going beyond resilience and time management to understand what's really happening when capacity drops. Explains why high performers are often most at risk and how to catch burnout early.

  • Grief and Loss at Work

Supporting people who are grieving while still working, with no fixed timeline. Explains why grief reduces capacity, not capability, and how to hold space for one of life's most universal experiences.

  • Domestic Abuse and Coercive Control Awareness

Recognising the often invisible signs, knowing what to do (and what not to do) if someone discloses, and understanding why for some people the workplace may be the only place they feel safe. Also covers clear boundaries for the manager's role.

  • Psychological Safety in the Workplace

Why "what you say" isn't always "what people feel." Explores how safety is felt in the body, not just written into team values, and why even teams with a great culture can still see survival responses.

Who Are These Workshops For?

The workshops are designed for everyone in your organisation:

Your workforce gains a shared vocabulary and the reassurance that what they're experiencing has a name and a reason behind it.

Your managers and leaders learn to recognise what's happening in their teams in real time, and what to stop doing.

Your HR and people teams get a framework that strengthens the policies you already have.

They're suitable for businesses of all sizes, from small and medium-sized businesses through to large organisations, public sector services, charities and healthcare teams.

Build a Wellbeing Programme

Each workshop works perfectly on its own, but they're designed to work together. Many organisations choose a series so the learning builds over time:

Single Workshop: ideal as a pilot or for one priority topic.

The Wellbeing Quarter (3 workshops): one workshop every 4–6 weeks.

The Wellbeing Half-Year (5 workshops): a steady rhythm for half the year, ideal alongside a staff survey or wellbeing strategy refresh.

The Wellbeing Year (all 7 workshops): a complete annual programme, roughly one workshop a month.

Plan Your Workshops Around Key Awareness Dates

Throughout the year, national awareness days, weeks and months create a natural moment for workplaces to start important conversations. Many organisations already plan something around these dates and a workshop is a meaningful way to move beyond awareness into real understanding and support.

Each workshop can be timed to coincide with a relevant awareness moment:

Workshops are available all year round, so you don't need to wait for an awareness date to get started. Many organisations like to plan their wellbeing calendar in advance, and getting in touch early means we can find the dates that work best for your team.

Why Work With Me?

I'm Emily, a Certified Trauma-Informed Coach, primary school teacher and founder of Embrace Your Freedom.

My understanding of the nervous system didn't start in a training room. It started with my own healing journey, where I discovered first-hand how deeply our experiences shape the way we think, feel and respond. That lived experience, combined with years of supporting children, families and professionals, is at the heart of every workshop I deliver.

I know that conversations about grief, abuse, menopause or burnout can feel uncomfortable, especially at work. That's why I create sessions that feel safe, warm and non-judgemental, where people can listen, reflect and take part at their own pace. Your team won't be lectured or overwhelmed. They'll leave with a clearer understanding of themselves and each other, and practical tools they can use straight away.

In 2026, I was proud to win New Woman in Business at the Women in Business Awards, recognising the work I do to bring trauma-informed understanding into workplaces, schools and communities.

Emily created a safe, respectful and engaging environment which was hugely appreciated. The workshop was totally inclusive and very sensitively demonstrated. What can be a difficult subject to talk about was handled with care and empathy. Our team members commented how much more confident and better equipped they felt about moving forward in their future roles. Thank you Emily!

- Funding Futures

It was such a pleasure to have Emily join us at the workshop. She brought a wealth of knowledge and delivered it in such a warm, approachable, and professional way. We all came away with so many valuable tips and insights, and I’m already looking forward to welcoming her back to the group again in the future.
